Q: I just heard a plane but I dont see it on the map in the app. What gives?
A: Only planes with ADS-B transponders will appear on the map, and only those which our radio server can see with line-of-sight. This covers the majority of the planes on the approach path to SFO over Santa Cruz, which are the noisiest of our problems.

Q: What is this strange code like a3cf6e I see on planes?
A: Each plane has a unique transponder ID. This is the primary way to identify aircraft. Its called the ICAO24 address. airframes.org is a great resource to learn more.

Q: It doesnt work.
A: Im sorry, please send feedback! Ill fix it ASAP

Q: Why isnt this available in Hometown, USA or other parts of the world?
A: The data for this map comes from a special radio that is connected to our server on location in Santa Cruz, CA. Right now we only have one radio dedicated to serving a specific community. We might expand soon! Let us know if youd like to see the noise reporter work in your area.

Q: This is great!
A: Im glad you think so, but thats not in the form of a question.

Q: I like turtles.
A: Im happy for you but again, not a question.

Q: This is so great I want to give you money. How can I pay you?
A: Use your money to support politicians that want to do something about the noise problem. If you insist, you can buy me a beer next time we see each other.
